Practical Tarot’s Quick Start Guides are Here!

Print

While you are waiting for Santa, give yourself a little treat…or consider a Quick Start Guide and a deck of cards would make the perfect gift for someone else!

You know that I like things practical, easy, clear, and effective. And while I love books that delve into the cards and new techniques, I also like guides that get you up and running quickly.

One of the best ways to become a good tarot reader is to read the cards. But so often people make it harder than it has to be. They tell themselves they have to understand every nuance before they can begin. They get a little paralyzed. The Quick Start Guides will, I hope, give people a sturdy enough foundation that they feel secure and enough confidence that they will just shuffle their cards and start reading!

The Tarot Game!

game-1

Last night, six friends and I played The Tarot Game by Jude Alexander. None of us had ever played it before; I had read through the instructions twice. Four of the other players have quite a bit of tarot knowledge (even though they say they don’t). One has a better than average familiarity with the…

TarotSpreadB

My next book, Tarot Spreads: Layouts & Techniques to Empower Your Readings, will be out in the winter. But here, right near the summer solstice, we have the final cover design! I remember at the launch meeting, where I meet with a committee that includes the cover designer, and we kick around ideas and give…

Tarot for Beginners

A newcomer can be overwhelmed by the vastness of the tarot landscape. In addition to the general “bigness” of it all, there is that delightful, freeing aspect of tarot that can also be the bane of a beginner’s experience: there are very few hand and fast rules with tarot.
